Launch · For businesses bringing something new into the world.

Go-to-market is the plan for the first thousand customers.

Positioning, audience, offer, channels and launch sequencing for products and companies entering the market, or entering a new one. Extra Medium builds GTM strategy from real launch experience, then helps you execute it.

What this actually means

What go-to-market strategy means here.

A go-to-market (GTM) strategy is the plan for how a product or company reaches its customers and wins them: who it is for, why they should care, how it is priced and packaged, which channels reach them, and in what sequence. It connects product, marketing and sales into one path to revenue.

A go-to-market consultant builds that plan with you and, at Extra Medium, helps run the launch. We have taken new platforms, enterprise licensing models, retail digital products and medical devices to market, and we bring that operating experience to every GTM engagement.

Who this is for

You will recognize yourself, or you won’t.

  • You are launching a product, service or company and want a plan sharper than "post about it and run ads."
  • You are entering a new market, region or customer segment where the old playbook will not work.
  • Sales and marketing disagree about who the customer is.
  • A launch is scheduled and leadership wants confidence, not hope.
How we think about it

The work, in order.

  1. Find the wedge

Every successful launch starts narrow. We identify the segment, use case and channel where you can win decisively first.

  2. Make the offer undeniable

Positioning, pricing and packaging are designed together so the first customers say yes quickly and the story is easy to repeat.

  3. Sequence the channels

Not everything at once. We order channels by speed to learn and cost to prove, so the launch generates evidence as well as revenue.

  4. Run the launch, then compound

GTM is not finished at launch. The first 90 days are a learning system: what worked, what did not, and what to scale.

From experience

Why we see it this way.

Real work, not a summary of the internet.

Our experience

Our founder launched a music platform from idea to 900,000+ users, helped launch enterprise licensing for a music technology company whose early adopters included Microsoft and Baylor University, and partnered with executive leadership on product launches and international expansion for a global medical device manufacturer. The lesson repeated across all of them: the companies that launch well are not the ones with the biggest budget. They are the ones that chose a narrow enough wedge to win, and were honest about the evidence when it came in.

Questions people ask

Straight answers.

What does a go-to-market agency do?

It defines the customer, the positioning, the offer and the channels for a launch or market entry, builds the launch plan and messaging, and often runs the launch alongside your team. Extra Medium does all of it, including the paid media, content and experiences the launch needs.

What is the difference between go-to-market strategy and marketing strategy?

GTM is specific to bringing something to market: a product, a company or an entry into a new segment or region. Marketing strategy is the ongoing plan once you are there. GTM ends when the launch has produced a repeatable path to customers; marketing strategy takes it from there.

How long does a go-to-market strategy take?

A focused GTM strategy typically takes four to eight weeks, followed by launch execution. Timelines compress for urgent launches and extend for international or multi-segment entries.

Do you help UK companies enter the US market, or US companies enter the UK?
